History of Trauma
People with a history of trauma have been tremendously challenged. Adaptations you have made to deal with trauma in your life are often your great strengths as well as sometimes your most persistent weaknesses. Additionally, trauma usually creates some negative beliefs about yourself or about others that may hinder your growth and your relationships. It is important to explore these and other aspects of trauma so you can gain a clearer awareness about them. Our therapy moves gently between traumatic events, beliefs, and adaptations and evaluations of the work so we can maintain a pace and the degree of safety that works for you. I am constantly amazed by the pearls within themselves my clients discover or recover doing trauma work.
